TRIFOL will present results for their transformational technology for conversion of polyolefin plastic into wax and fuels as block building chemicals while highlighting the impact that this will have in circular economy for different markets, regions and customers.

Ruben Rodriguez is a trilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, English) Engineer and Technology executive, MBA in Oil and Gas and PhD in chemical engineer with 20 years' experience in oil and gas, chemical service companies, technology development for the renewable energy sector, process design in oil & gas industry and oil majors upstream and downstream.    Ruben started in 1996 in South America working in Biofuels, sugar industry and Bio-Ethanol processes. He then moved to the UK in 1998 and graduated as a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Surrey University in 2003 where he then worked as a Research Fellow designing and scaling up PRB reactors in the SEREBAR project.  In 2005 Ruben moved to Foster Wheeler working on GTL & GTX in the Oryx project, gaining LNG experience while working in trains 7&8 of Bonny Island (Nigeria). His skills set was noticed by then competitors Shaw Group (Technip) and in 2006 Ruben moved to Shaw group leading process technology development, having different assignments such as; Marathon Oil GTL project in Houston scaling up GTL technology.    In 2009 Ruben then joined Gas2 Ltd as Director of Engineering and Applications, managing engineering, marketing & business development for Gas2, dealing with shareholders, investors, internal and external stakeholders of the business such as TOTAL and PETRONAS, reporting directly to the board of directors and CEO of the company. Ruben also led the fund-raising program ($20million) for the company. The next 5 years he managed the successful scale up from lab to construction, operation and commissioning of a GTL refinery-demonstration plant in Wilton England.  In 2014 Ruben decided to move back to the US with his family and accepted a position for ChampionX evolving to become Head of Commercial Insights and Analytics for ChampionX (formerly Nalco Champion an Ecolab company).  He did this for 9years before joining TRFOL as their new CEO, tasked with carrying the vision to grow the business in years to come.    Highlights of Ruben’s career include having been involved in the SEREBAR project which was awarded best project in Europe in 2004 with a further world award with the same project as most innovative technology given in New York in 2005. Scaling up a new GTL technology for Gas2 as well as leading strategy and marketing development there. Leading innovation portfolio development and digital transformation for ChampionX exceeding growth targets (above $200MM) for the entire Chemical Technology division in the past 9years.
