Developmental State of Conversion Technologies from User’s Perspective
Dr. Shapoor Hamid
Dr. Hamid is a principal scientist at AECOM and an expert in the field of environmental and waste processing, with over 30 years of experience in waste to energy projects specifically projects related thermal, biological and other conversion technologies. He performed technical and financial evaluation of conversion technologies processing post-recycled municipal solid waste, biomass, and biosolids for many municipalities, utility companies, and private clients nationally and internationally. Also, Dr. Hamid has participated in the design, construction and commissioning of pyrolysis and gasification technologies in a variety of applications, including municipal solid waste, biomass, and biosolids. Dr. Hamid provided technical assistance for the design, and manufacturing of thermal oxidizers, scrubbers, and air emissions control systems. He has worked closely with EPA, AQMD, and other regulatory authorities and prepared permit applications for thermal processes.
