Current Tire Scrap Pyrolysis Technologies and Market in China
Zikun Yu (Peter) is from a family of engineers. Both his father and uncle were worked for state owned mining equipment factories and later started their own company, AYU Global. In the year 2000, Zikun graduated from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, with a master degree in Environmental Management. When the trading part of the family business grew significantly, Zikun was sent to open the New York branch, called AYU Global USA Corp. It has been established since 2004 and has grown into 3 main business areas focused on recycling: recycled materials trading; recycling equipment manufacture; and products made with recycled materials. Since 2013, they are mainly promoting a new technology: Pyrolysis, to achieve true zero waste concepts. At present, AYU Global group owns 3 factories and 5 branches in China and US.
The US generates 1/3 of the tire scraps of the whole world; China generates another 1/3, and growing. That’s why this market is strategically important. Urbanization is happening rapidly; made the solid waste treatment an urgent issue for national and local political leaders. This presentation will explore pyrolysis technologies as solution to tire management issues.
